Skincare Enthusiasts approved! Must-Have Face Masks

October 16, 2019 Beauty + Style, Living

For me, skincare is self care, and I love a bomb face mask. One of my favorites things to do is put on a face mask that will give me a nice glow by morning! Can we say #skingoals. With so many masks out on the market, it’s so hard to tell what’s what. So, I gathered three skincare enthusiasts together to spill the tea on their personal favorite facial masks. We are joined by a cosmetic dermatology PA, skincare influencer, and an esthetician. These women come vast with knowledge, so take some notes because I’m sure you’re bound to find your next fave!

Meet Amy!

dermatology PA, facial masks, skin goals, glow skin

Amy is a cosmetic dermatology, PA-C based in Miami, with an interest in anti-aging and prevention. She has a lifestyle and wellness blog The Skinthusiast where she encourages women to glow from the inside out. See what she had to say about her favorite facial masks below!

  • Skyn Iceland Arctic Hydration Rubberizing Mask. This gel mask has ingredients like Glyerin to give your skin a little extra plump (great for before an event) along with jojoba oil. Glycerin is a strong humectant and a great ingredient but should always be combined with an occlusive for dry types (in this case jojoba oil). Humectants used alone without an occlusive on dry skin will actually dehydrate you even more in most cases!
  • The SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Masque is great to have in your arsenal for reducing redness. This product also contains Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid (another humectant) along with some emollients and occlusives. Cucumber extract to help fight water retention and it’s mild anti-inflammatory properties make this mask a nice cooling gel mask.
  • June Jacobs Perfect Pumpkin Peeling Enzyme Masque. Pumpkin naturally contains great exfoliating agents like plant enzymes and AHAs. It’s also rich in many vitamins like Vitamin A and C (amazing antioxidants) and E (great for our skin barrier).

Meet Dana!

beauty influencer, beauty in color, facial masks, skin goals, glow skin

Dana is a New York based skincare blogger and influencer. She is the founder and creative director of Beauty In Color, a space where she provides information for women to gain insight on the best skincare secrets for melanin skin. See what she had to say about her favorite facial masks below!

  • Peach & Lily Sheet Mask Set This sheet mask set contains no alcohol, artificial fragrances, or harsh ingredients. This set is designed to target specific skincare needs. The Reset Button mask will calm irritated skin. The Chubby Cheeks mask will lift and plump due to its skin firming ingredients. And the Good Skin Day mask will hydrate and nourish.
  • Neogen White Truffle Hydramax Knit Mask This mask has a unique, thick knitted texture that’s drenched in a concentrated essence. Some of the moisturizing ingredients included in this mask are ceramides, white truffle, and avocado oil. This mask honestly feels like a cozy blanket on my face. You can literally leave this on for an hour, and it won’t dry up on you! And after application, my skin feels refreshed, moisturized, and bouncy.
  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask There are only a few ingredients that can nourish and repair dry, sensitive, and irritated skin like the colloidal oatmeal found in this hydrating and profoundly soothing mask. This mask calms irritation and flakiness that can hit you hard in the winter.

Meet Zayna!

esthetician, BARE spa, facial masks, skin goals, glow skin

Zayna is an esthetician/brow expert based in Atlanta. She is also founder and owner of BARE The Brand. BARE encourages all women to ‘bare all,’ by being open to authentic conversations around skincare, beauty, health and fitness. See what she had to say about her favorite facial masks below!

  • Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel Mask this is my holy grail mask…I’ve been using it for over 4 months now and I’m in love. I had a rash all over my face a few weeks ago from a product I used. I put this mask on and within a few hours the rash was insanely less noticeable. I slept in this mask over night and the rash was completely gone the next morning! I even used this mask after my Brazilian and underarm waxes and for menstrual breakouts. I also recommend this particular mask to my clients, plus it was only $4 at Nam Dae Farmers Market
  • 24K Gold Deep Cleansing Peel-Off Mask This mask is great for nights after going out and having a full face of makeup on. It provides pore tightening, oil control and it gives an intensive repair to the skin. I love that it’s a peel off mask because I personally feel like peel off mask truly help exfoliate your skin. Once you peel it off it reveals new, fresh vibrant skin. Just add your favorite moisturizer or serum and you’re good to go.
  • Bamboo Charcoal Face Mask I love a good face mask that I can easily put on while getting ready to go out, giving myself a good 20 minute facial. It helps for my makeup to sit better or if I decide to be makeup free, I then have a fresh spa like glow.

Thank you ladies for sharing!

Fall/Winter is upon us, and it can make for some really dry skin. Now is the perfect time to indulge in a little self care. The masks that they all shared sound so moisturizing, I can’t wait to try them out! xo

Are face masks part of your skincare regimen? If so, what are your faves?
