So excited to share Ezra’s nursery with you all! He is one month old as of tomorrow, and currently sleeping in a bassinet right next to me! Ha. But its something about having the nursery complete! I have been working on this space for the past 3 months, so it just feels good to be done! With this room, it took a little longer for me to come up with an idea. I was just uninspired, honestly. But finally, I landed on a chic safari-tribal vibe. Is that a thing?! We’re just going to go with it, okay? OK!
This room started out as an office/guest room. Decided to do away with the office, now it will be a nursery/guest room combo. I painted the room dark blue back in 2017, and never finished the project! So, Ezra really just got a room that was one of those ‘we’re going to work with what we got!’ So dark blue it was!

The Design Process
With the room being painted dark, I knew I wanted to brighten it up and keep it overall neutral. I knew from the beginning that I wanted animals, so I saw the lion rocker on sale and that started the safari animal theme! Navy, white, mixed wood tones are the main colors I was working with. I just added a little turquoise and yellow to mix it up a bit! I added prints in to give it a little more depth/interest such as the rug, crib sheet, pillow, drawer pulls and picture frame.

We used Eden’s old crib, and with it being white, it was perfect for this space! I found the cutest animal prints on Etsy! They really set the overall tone for the nursery. It was so easy to download the artwork and just print at Walgreens!
The dresser ended up being my favorite piece! It’s an Ikea hack that we stained and painted. The inspiration came from a West Elm dresser that was 3x the price, and honestly I like it even better than the original. If you’re using a dresser for a changing table, just make sure your dresser is deep enough to fit a changing mat and you’re good to go! I added fun drawer pulls that I found on Etsy!
There is a small part of this room that has a daybed! I will be turning this little corner into a guest area, and I will definitely be sure to share once its complete! That being said, we opted for no rocking chair/ottoman!
Looking forward to creating new memories in this space with Ezra! All of the sources are listed below!
